PEDRO’s Flagship Store Unveiled

On Saturday, 14th December, the heart of Sihanouk Boulevard was transformed as PEDRO arrived in Cambodia with unparalleled style, marking the opening of its flagship store. The event drew fashion’s finest, with guests and friends of the brand – including Davika Hoorne, Hirunkit Changkham, and Shin Yubin – arriving in full force to celebrate a night that was destined to be unforgettable.

The 243-square-meter space, meticulously curated and impeccably assembled, embodies PEDRO’s signature fusion of contemporary design and cultural consciousness. The store is a living reflection of Cambodia's rich architectural history, amplifying the country's historic properties while staying true to the brand’s DNA. Traditional elements meet refined modern touches, creating a dialogue between the past and the future, where every detail is carefully considered.

A visual highlight of the store is the installation art created in collaboration with Montreal-based Khmer artist FONKi. The artwork, a modern reimagining of traditional kbach motifs through a graffiti-inspired lens, brings a sense of rhythm and fluidity to the space. Fusing urban expression with cultural symbolism, it balances Cambodia’s heritage with the vibrant energy of Sihanouk Boulevard, grounding the store in its local context while projecting a progressive vision.

The celebration unfolded in a space where fashion, culture, and creativity converged. As libations flowed generously and beats filled the air, attendees were immersed in the latest PEDRO collections. Signature designs, embodying the brand’s sharp, elegant aesthetic, were on full display, inviting all to discover what lies ahead for PEDRO’s journey in Cambodia.

PEDRO’s new flagship store in Sihanouk Boulevard reimagines retail design by seamlessly merging historical influences with contemporary concepts. The layout skillfully balances geometry—lines, curves, and angles—creating a dynamic environment that reflects both local traditions and global design trends. This fusion of past and present resonates with the vibrant energy of Sihanouk Boulevard, while paying homage to Cambodia’s architectural legacy.

Embracing an open-plan layout, the space is divided by soft, organic curves that enhance both functionality and visual appeal. Modular design elements allow for versatile configurations, ensuring adaptability for various events and displays. Fixtures and fittings blend harmoniously with the environment, supporting a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. This approach speaks to modernist principles while remaining grounded in timeless elegance.

The store merges the grandeur of neoclassical architecture with the sleekness of modernism. Glass and reinforced concrete create a bold, yet grounded, effect, evoking a sense of futurism. Inside, historical elements like stucco walls and herringbone wood floors contrast with sculptural furniture and contemporary artworks. This blend invites visitors to envision how traditional architectural elements might evolve in the future.

Step into a space where history and progress collide in perfect harmony. Clean lines, open spaces, and soft curves come together to create a fluid, seamless experience. Every corner tells a story of transformation, where the past meets the present and the future unfolds. It’s a place where new ideas take shape, offering a fresh perspective on how design can influence what’s to come.

Elevation

This striking sculpture, crafted by FONKi in collaboration with PEDRO, draws inspiration from the intricate Kbach ornaments found in the ancient temples of Angkor, seamlessly blending them with FONKi’s vibrant graffiti aesthetic. The three distinct levels of the sculpture symbolize the interplay between modernity and ancient Khmer art, representing a continuous journey of elevation and growth. Influenced by the rich heritage of Khmer art, the dynamic energy of street culture, and the thriving spirit of contemporary Phnom Penh, ‘Elevation’ captures the essence of a city in constant transformation.
